BEIA Grid Institut at Cities of Tomorrow #14 — Bucharest, 28 April 2026

On 28 April 2026, BEIA Grid Institut attended the 14th edition of Cities of Tomorrow, Bucharest’s premier annual conference dedicated to the sustainable development of Romanian cities and regions, organized by the German-Romanian Chamber of Commerce (AHK Romania) and Econet.

This year’s theme — Urban Renaissance: Sustainable Urban Makeover Through Green & Smart Infrastructure — couldn’t have been a more natural fit for our team. Cities are undergoing a profound transformation driven by climate change, demographic pressure, and the demand for smarter, greener urban environments.

For BEIA Grid Institut, Cities of Tomorrow #14 was a valuable opportunity to disseminate our NEVERFLAT project — a Horizon Europe initiative developing a low-cost, bidirectional, smart EV charging infrastructure for mass deployment in urban and peri-urban environments. As cities accelerate their shift toward sustainable mobility and green infrastructure, the availability of affordable, interoperable, and user-friendly EV charging is not a peripheral concern — it is a cornerstone of the urban renaissance. NEVERFLAT, validated through pilot sites in Romania, Germany, and Spain, speaks directly to this need.

We look forward to continuing to contribute to smarter, greener, and more resilient cities — in Romania and across Europe.
