ABGI Romania took part in the 12th edition of the Bucharest Science Festival (BSF 2026), Romania’s first science festival, held from 23 to 27 September 2026 in Bucharest. The Secular-Humanist Association of Romania (ASUR) and Planeta Științei organise the festival every year, and this edition counted 22 events in 18 venues over five days, under the patronage of the Ministry of Research, Innovation and Digitalization.

The festival aims to spark critical thinking and a love for science among the wider public, a goal that fits our own mission to raise awareness of research and its impact on everyday life.

We presented two projects that tackle big everyday challenges. WATERGRID develops nature-based Smart Water Grids for more climate-resilient water management, with a focus on extreme drought across the whole river catchment. NEVERFLAT builds an innovative framework for low-cost, large-scale EV charge infrastructure. Visitors connected quickly with both topics, since water and mobility touch everyone’s daily life.
