From Research to the Energy Forum Stage: ABGI at FOREN 2026 — Neptun, 14–17 June 2026

FOREN 2026 — the WEC Central & Eastern Europe Energy Forum, organised by the Romanian National Committee of the World Energy Council (WEC/RNC) under the auspices of the Romanian Government — took place from 14 to 17 June 2026 at the International Conference Center, Neptun, under the theme “Secure, Sustainable and Affordable Energy for Central and Eastern Europe.”

We are proud to highlight the contribution of Cristian Beceanu from ABGI Romania (BEIA Grid Institut), who presented the scientific paper “Requirements-Engineering Framework for Bidirectional Electric Vehicle Charging Services in Urban Environments” — a contribution grounded in the work of our active Horizon Europe project NEVERFLAT.

The paper examined the requirements-engineering framework necessary to design, validate, and deploy bidirectional EV charging services in complex urban environments — addressing the technical, regulatory, and interoperability dimensions that determine whether V2G infrastructure can perform reliably at scale. Presenting at FOREN 2026 placed NEVERFLAT‘s work directly in front of energy sector leaders, policymakers, and grid operators, including representatives from Transelectrica, E.ON Romania, Hidroelectrica, Nuclearelectrica, ROMGAZ, and the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Energy.

Our active project portfolio: NEVERFLAT, NEVERFLAT EU, WATERGRID, GORU-W.
